Make Lemon Zest With a Few Simple Kitchen Tools
I don’t own a lemon zester so when I’m making a recipe that calls for lemon zest, I look no further than my trusty Vegetable Peeler and a sharp knife. With those tools I can easily make lemon zest and I have one less gadget filling my drawer.
A few swipes of the peeler and a few strokes of the knife and I have fragrant, flavorful zest. This technique also works for limes, oranges and any other citrus fruits you want to zest.

FEATURE
Vegetable Peeler
It’s the unsung hero of the kitchen. The Vegetable Peeler is more than just a tool to peel skins off potatoes and carrots. Use it to shave chocolate and cheese, make asparagus curls or vegetable ribbons.
“I was hesitant to spend a lot of money on a peeler, but when I discovered that this peeler would even peel Hubbard squash, I was sold. It takes about 3 passes to peel the squash, but I don’t get any more blisters from excess usage of the paring knife. It is well worth the money and even more.”
